TED ideas, published last week a very interesting article I would like to share with you. The article is an extract of DEEP: Life, Death & Amphibious Humans at the Last Frontier on Earth by James Nestor and it explores the science of the “mammalian dive reflex,” the phenomenon by which water triggers an immediate decrease in heart rate when our body is submerged in water. From the Raimondo Bucher hundred feet free-dive in 1949, to Boyle’s Theory this amazing article informs us about one of the most extreme transformations ever discovered in the human body, a change that occurs only in water. This change was named by Swedish born researcher Per Scholander, the Master Switch of Life. Read and watch more here.
